Succulents in my Fairy Garden

I love the look of the succulents in a fairy garden. The rosette succulent give a look of flowers in the fairies yard. The taller succulents and cacti give an appearance of trees. It just makes me smile to see how something I imagine will turn out and get to enjoy these beautiful plants for years to come.

For this project I use succulents that I purchased and succulents that I grew from cuttings. I also used 2 cacti.

The little house I got at a craft store for a $1 and let my kids paint it. I truly love including my kids are project all over our house and in our yard.

I love art and to create new things. I feel as though the working in the garden is another for of art. I have an idea that I want to bring to reality. There maybe painting involved, there maybe some building, and there is a lot of placing the plant in just a way to give a certain look. I have hopes to construct some other items for future fairy gardens and I hope you all get inspired to create something new.

A few flowers

I love working in the garden and I am always adding new things to it. Earlier in the spring I posted about a few of the flowers growing. Now that we are in summer I thought I would share some of the new flowers that are blooming.

I have several different sunflowers growing and next year I hope to have a flower bed just for the sunflowers. I aloha very a red sunflower that is not blooming right now. When I get a flower I will post a picture of it.

I also have a lot of roses in our yard but I did get a new purple rose that looks amazing.

The last flower I am going share is a marigold. I always grow marigold during the summer but this year I just dumped the seeds in the ground and I got huge bushes. I will be doing it this way from now on.

These are just a few of the flowers that are growing and I can’t wait to add more to our yard.

My Favorite Fairy Garden

I have been playing with succulents and cacti all summer long and I just love them. I now have about 10 succulent arrangements inside my house and I have a few outside as well. My mom got me a flower pot that was a large tea cup and told me she wanted me to do a succulent arrangement to add to my collection.

I had some beautiful aloe cuttings and some cacti that I had ordered I felt would be perfect in this pot. I also had a fairy (that my kids broke the wings off of) to use.

I ended up with my favorite fairy garden and such a cute center piece for our kitchen table. I did get some blue rock to use as water and green rock to act as grass.

I have about 5 other fairies that need a garden for a home so I have more fairy gardens in my future.
